Little Sister Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Little Sister is my go-to in DTLA.
Energetic casual atmosphere. Food is always amazing. The saigon lemograss beef, the shaky shaky beef, and sticky rice are great dishes. The service from the team is solid as usual. Great place to in DTLA!
TLDR: unlabeled allergens.
I am writing this across the street from the nearest emergency room (Dignity Health). Today is my birthday and I was really looking forward to splurging and trying the food at Little Sister. The dishes were a little slow to come out but it was pretty packed for a Monday night, I recommend making a reservation. I ordered the Xio Sticky Rice and Saigon Lemongrass Beef. In case you are unaware, like I was, peanuts are included with the Saigon Lemongrass Beef but they don't mention or note it on the menu. The cashews and peanuts are mentioned in the description of other dishes, which is concerningly inconsistent. Also important to note: the waiter did not ask me or my boyfriend our allergies, although he claimed otherwise when my boyfriend panicked asked if the dish had peanuts in it. If he had asked for our allergies when we ordered, I would have mentioned peanuts. Don't worry, they're located a block away from CVS so I managed to slam Benadryl like it was vodka on my 21st birthday, rather than my 23rd. Their food is frustratingly good. I had a piece of tofu from the sticky rice just now and the beef that I was able to eat at the restaurant was very flavorful and tender. I am very disappointed that I could not finish it.
The taste of the foods here show an apparent lack of
The taste of the foods here show an apparent lack of knowledge in using fish sauce and Vietnamese Cuisine. Names of authentic Vietnamese dishes seem to haven been overly abused on the menu; for instance, the dish Ca Kho To has almost no caramelized texture and the sauce texture lacks thickness despite being awfully sweetened with palm sugar; the steps taken to make a "Kho" dish seem to be poorly delivered; even the "Tộ" part is ignored as the foods were served on a Chảo. Banh Xeo's fish sauce is way too sour and acidic. Quite a joke this place is popular for Vietnamese foods. But I can see how this is a success if they initially opened for non Vietnamese people. The wall art seems cute though... butterflies coming out of helicopters in a war themed setting. I never thought that post war pains also include mediocre appropriated cuisine. What a discovery! Love the service and the presentation though.

Been here three times so far, and I've had an amazing experiences for all three. I work in the area so walking here is no issue, making a reservation is easy. Our host is always amazing she is very knowledgeable and always recommends the best food for our group. You have to get the shrimp and pork spring rolls, shaky shaky beef, and garlic noodles these three will not disappoint. The restaurant is a bit small but they have a huge flavor in their food. Great spot for lunch meetings.
Food, service, and ambiance is great.
This gem is in plain sight, but you'll miss it if you're not paying attention. Everything was fresh and delicious. Would recommend to those that live in the area, as it's a bit cumbersome to park, being that it's in the heart of Downtown LA. Noticed they have more than one restaurant, so I will be looking to check out some of their other locations, with hopes the parking situation is better than our Downtown experience. Definitely worth a try.
First time visiting and will come back.
Relaxed atmosphere, good ambiance and music and the portions are generous.

The service is the worst Left me on hold for over 20mins, had to hang up and call again. Cashier are trash
Service was great.
Will had personality, able to make menu recommendations with specific dietary restrictions. I have a finicky palette when it comes to some Asian spice varieties ( so annoying), but opted to live a little for a friend's birthday. Had a great time. The Shakky Shakky beef my favorite of all the dishes I tried. The black rice dish was tasty as well. Super fresh. Thank you.
Absolutely Pho-nomenal cuisine! Best ever! Great service!
Absolutely Pho-nomenal cuisine! Best ever! Great service! Lovely interior as well! I had the shrimp & pork spring roll and 'pho bo'. Both fantastic dishes. Best part yet, they give you a nice warm towel to wipe your hands with afterwards. Definitely will be coming back!
Oh my gosh, this place is absolutely the best.
This is about our third time coming here and the first time we just happened to stumble across it by accident and it was definitely worth it. Each time, we come here we're a little unsure if we're ordering the same thing or not as we always forget what we ordered but each time that we order; we knew we were going to like it! The food is always delicious and filling. Service and ambiance is worth every penny.

I've visited this restaurant twice, and the food is consistently amazing, definitely deserving 5 stars. My only gripe is that it's quite small and can get noisy. Still, I'd absolutely recommend it.
Food was delicious but the terrible service experience left
Food was delicious but the terrible service experience left me swearing that I will never return to Little Sister. I booked dinner for two on a Wednesday night, with the plan of catching up with an old friend. When I made the reservation on Open Table, there was no mention of any limits on the table time, nor was there any mention of this in the confirmation email I was sent, nor did the host mention anything about it when she seated my friend and I. We placed our drink and food order, and everything arrived at the table really quickly and all at once- like within a couple of minutes so that it was hard to imagine how they'd even had time to cook the food. We were also at a teeny tiny table squashed in between two others, and there wasn't even room for our 3 dishes on the table, but the food smelled and tasted great, so we dug in, while also enjoying sipping our drinks and having a conversation-- though it's really hard to enjoy conversation in Little Sister DTLA as the music is super loud and the tables are so crowded together that you can't help but hear everyone else talking around you. My friend and I were still very much in the middle of eating and enjoying conversation 50 minutes later when the host came over and said "I need your table back in 10 minutes." I was literally mid-chew, and was totally stunned to have this information just dropped on us, not to mention embarrassed as I was the one who chose Little Sister and asked my friend to come all the way from the west side to meet me there. The tables on either side of us were told the same thing, but both of them had been there for longer than us-- they already had food on their table when we arrived. The women sitting next to us were just as annoyed, and told us they couldn't believe that we'd already been asked to leave when we were so clearly in the middle of eating our meal. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that gives you only one hour on a weeknight with your table-- and especially one that doesn't give you ample warning from the time you sit down. If they had told us we had less than an hour to eat our food, we would have left and found somewhere else to eat-- there are so many places in DTLA where we could have enjoyed our meal without feeling so rushed and being talked to by the host so rudely. My friend and I quickly ate a few more bites of food, then paid our bill (which was more than $50/head), and each took a moment to visit the restroom-- during which time the host verbally pestered us two more times to leave the table. We were so clearly doing our best to leave, and so clearly rushing having not finished our meal. The attitude from Little Sister's host and staff came across as "how quickly can we get you out of here?" I have rarely felt so devalued and disrespected as a restaurant customer, and I won't be returning to Little Sister ever again.
It's hard to find the words to describe our experience here.
We have eaten at the Manhattan Beach location multiple times and this feels like a completely different restaurant. The menu feels less approachable, the atmosphere is much less relaxing, and the service was only fine. We will continue to solicit the Manhattan Beach location but won't be returning here.
Delicious food! Every dish was absolutely perfect.
Great service- thank you Alex! The pho ko was delicious and my husband loved his lemongrass beef.
The food was DELICIOUS!! The waiter was a bit odd, but nice.
For two people, definitely only 3 dishes is enough. We at the two that had fish, which enabled us to take the wings home. The wings were delicious cold, while driving.

Delicious food.
Family style. Fresh flavors. The service was good too. We will definitely be back.
Great discovery
Tasty dishes and a very friendly atmosphere with a very knowledgeable waiter. The dishes are plentiful, don't hesitate to share 1 dish for 2 Be careful though the bill was steep 😅
This is an upscale Vietnamese restaurant.
The spring rolls are not anything special, but I thoroughly enjoy the Saigon lemongrass beef with vermicelli noodles. We poured the whole sauce and mixed it up like salad. If you want something savory, sour, and sweet all at once get this! I loved it so much I tried to find another restaurant that made something similar. When I did find a place, it wasn't up to par to how Little Sister did it. Service was ok and it is definitely pricer than authentic Vietnamese restaurants
Little Sister is one of my favorite restaurants, the food
Little Sister is one of my favorite restaurants, the food is so good. The flavors they capture are unmatched. I haven't had anything here I didn't like, and I've been several times. The service is always good, and it's such a vibey place. The lighting is dim, and they play hip hop at a low enough volume where you know what the song is but it doesn't distract your conversation. Make a reservation, as the place is small and always crowded. Be sure to check it out.

Called to order the goi cuon to-go and was ready in 10 minutes. $17.50. The peanut sauce was 10/10.
Really great modern twist for Vietnamese food.
Food was very flavorful and delicious! Everything we got was really good from the lemongrass beef noodle bowl, lemongrass chicken wings, and banh cuon. The service was friendly and fast and the inside has a great vibe to it. Went there on a Thursday for lunch and was still packed so we got seated at the bar. Great location for a lunch or dinner!
Great Vietnamese Food
This was my first experience with Vietnamese food...and Little Sister definitely was a great introduction to the cuisine! The establishment is a little tight, packed in downtown LA. But the decor and atmosphere was very stylish and inviting. Our staff here was great throughout the visit. We ordered our food family style, and ordered five dishes between four of us. It was definitely a LOT of food, and we enjoyed each of our dishes. The unique cocktail list was also attractive. All in all, this was an excellent dinner, and a great introduction to Vietnamese cuisine.
All very good.
Wait staff was excellent - fast and efficient. Provided good suggestions on menu options. It was the first day of the new dinner menu so his advice was appreciated. Beer and wine options were good. Prices seemed high but a huge glass of wine for the price. Food as usual was very good - Dumplings, noodles, banh mi, etc… Place was packed at 7pm on a Saturday - suggest you get a reservation.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
