OK Ryan Queens Reviews from The Last Year
It was a really hot day and it was really stuffy inside the
It was a really hot day and it was really stuffy inside the restaurant. The fan really didn't cut it. They need to turn on the air conditioner or open the door. I was dripping in sweat by the time I was done with my beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup was pretty disappointing. The soup had no flavor but meat tasted pretty good, which is odd since the meat is cooked in the soup. The noodles were also well cooked but the addition of the pieces of carrots and cabbage were not necessary and weird. I asked for extra extra sour mustard and made the soup edible. The last resort would've been to add soy sauce. The others ordered vegetarian dishes, which I tasted and thought we're OK. The stinky tofu was definitely not stinky enough. However, the staff was extremely friendly, even though they were extremely busy with all the takeout orders. They even brought separate, dipping sauces, one vegetarian, the other not for the stinky tofu. The whole thing was weird, since this is a sister store to OK Canaan, when I had the beef noodle soup over there, the soup had great flavor, but the beef was crappy, and the noodles were overcooked. And the stinky tofu over there was pretty stinky. It's almost like everything is opposite. Would I go there again? Maybe. I brought my sister a pork chop over rice to go and she said it was delicious. So if I'm ever craving that, I might try it. However, I ordered a Kung pao chicken lunch for my husband, and the portion was so small and there were so much fillers such as red and green bell peppers and it wasn't spicy at all.
I love good old Taiwanese breakfast on the weekends.
It's totally worth getting up early for. It ends early at 11am, so don't oversleep. My favorites are the vegetarian panda fantuan, salty soybean milk, sweet soybean milk and radish pastry. It's so good. My mom said they have the best fantuan in Flushing. They also have shao bing (toasted sesame flat bread) and Dan bing (egg pancake) options for breakfast but I get the panda fantuan which is very filling. It's half purple and white rice with a fried cruller, stewed egg, and pickled radishes. I also like their oyster pancake and stinky tofu. I would like to try more dishes but usually go for the Taiwanese favorites since that's what I crave.

OK Ryan, nestled in Flushing, is a great choice if you're craving homey and delicious Taiwanese food. Our group of five went family style, which is a must since the menu has so many tempting options. My two favorites of the meal were the fly's head (a simple yet effective mix of ground pork, black bean, budding chives, and chilies) and cabbage in XO sauce (can this be my side dish for every meal?). FYI, they're both listed as spicy but there's barely a kick. As comfort dishes go, the pork with bamboo shoot was top-notch. I also liked the beef with water spinach in BBQ sauce (love myself some sacha sauce), which was a bit wetter than I expected, but tasty nonetheless. For other classic options, you can't go wrong with the Taiwanese style stinky tofu (personally the pickled veggies have always been my favorite part), Taiwanese three cup chicken, and braised pork rice with egg (my favorite of this group). While I liked the flavors of the oyster omelette, it was a little too goopy for me and wayyy too goopy for my friends. There were barely any oysters, but that didn't surprise me. I also tried ba-wan for the first time, and it was glutinous with a tasty sauce, but I preferred the other dishes. The sesame oil pork kidney was also a little too soft for my taste, but take that with a grain of salt, as I'm usually not big on kidneys unless they're grilled and smoky. My kidney-loving friend really enjoyed it. I was also glad to snag the last grass jelly drink of the night. It was excellent and so refreshing! The wait staff was really friendly and helpful, and I really appreciated that. Flushing's always such a trek from Brooklyn, but I hope to return and try other dishes, especially from their breakfast menu.

We ordered 5 dishes off of their Chinese New Year menu and 4 out of the 5 dishes failed miserably in both taste and portion given the exorbitant pricing (approx $240, Inc tax and tip for delivery). Also, all dishes arrived cold. The lobster fried noodle was $72 (before tax and tip) and had only one lobster and the noodles were bland. Each guest was left very disappointed. Given that the turnip cake with XO sauce was roughly $30, we expected a much larger portion, the taste was decent.
This place is fairly unique and offers good variety
This place is fairly unique and offers good variety alongside the northern Chinese restaurants you'll find in Flushing. Staff are super friendly and really go out of their way to introduce you to their menu and other catering services. They serve really good breakfast as well. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.
Food was okay.
Oyster pancake was good since I haven't had one for a while. Beef noodle was okay. Pork rice dish portion was small. They focus on their lunch box to go side of business. I will go get lunch to go.
The food was good.
The service was bare minimum though. Felt like a very old school restaurant.
Visited on weekday for lunch.
Pretty simple setup. Interior was very ordinary cuisine. I was recommended that this was authentic Taiwanese food and I loved it! I had tofu and 3 spice chicken. They were very delicious Tofu-good texture. Nice and firm. They soaked the flavor really well. Very tasty. I recommend all tofu dishes. 3 spice chicken. Good flavoring. Not too greasy. I thought this was a little salty but my friend think it's okay. Spices are definetly well defined! Very unique flavoring Service was great. All the staffs were eager to help. It's easy to find parking in the area but on the peak time it might be hard to find a parking. Overall, really recommended!
Surprisingly pretty big interior.
Cozy feeling since they've decorated for the holidays. People's food arrived around us and it smelled so good! We ordered the ba-man, oyster pancake, and cumin lamb. We've never had the ba-man before so this was interesting. It's a semi-clear potato dough with meat and mushroom filling and a sauce. The filling and sauce work really well and the dough has a nice bouncy texture. I believe the oyster pancake uses the same dough but it has eggs, oysters, and vegetables. IT was delicious! The oysters were so sweet and the vegetables gave the pancake an extra crunch. The sauce tastes a little like ketchup/tomato based with some spiciness and was so addicting. We asked for the cumin lamb to be less spicy because we can't handle our heat and it literally tastes like Xi'an famous food's cumin lamb burger which is one of our favorite things. Rice is separate but we were so full eating everything. I definitely would return to try other items!
Satisfies cravings everytime - always hits the spot.
Great Taiwanese spot with lots of great options. I always order the eggplant beef and it is good every time. Service is very fast and you can get seated pretty quickly. Been going here for years.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
