Service was amazing! Unfortunately that is the end of the good part. My bone in NY strip was tough and not trimmed well. Still had connective tissue near the outer edge. It also tasted like a chemical liquid smoke was used. For the extreme prices, I expect better.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and great service.
Beautiful restaurant highly recommend for a special night out or a corporate dinner.

A nice atmosphere especially when the weather is nice and the big windows are open, but it is very overpriced and the food, including the steak, is nothing amazing. This was my second trip and came away with the same feeling.

The prices are high. The service can be good but is inconsistent. Unfortunately after many visits my last was the worst. The waiters were poorly communicating with each other and forgetting about us. It was my birthday, which they did recognize but never brought any sort of dessert or celebration or sparkler to my table. It was sad to see as I watched many other tables around me get sparklers. This may sound ridiculous but there are many other attributes that add to the inconstancy of the night. Slow service (almost non existent), incorrect food received after long food wait times. Lastly, the wait to receive boxes, the check, and get it cashed it out was ridiculous. After emailing prime and proper about the experience they asked to hear more. I sent another email with much further detail and have received nothing in return. Sadly my money and birthday celebration choice felt very wasted that night. First experience to the last has been a downhill experience. I hope it gets better, it's really a cool place.
Be the first to ReplyUnbelievable dining experience.
I couldn't find one thing wrong- the ambience, the service staff and management, the food and cocktails exceptional. Highly recommend the Tomahawk Ribeye Medium. Was amazing! Squash and burrata, the proper hash browns, pommes puree, broccolini, and gnocchi made excellent side dishes. Our service team was Claire and Christian and Michael the manager were so personable, professional and attributed to the enjoyment of this dining experience. Thank You!

Came in for a cocktail and they wouldn't let me sit down because my pants had a cuff at the bottom. Not trying to act bougie but I work for Gucci and was wearing it head to toe and they said there was no way for me to get a cocktail unless it was at the bar which had no seats. It's a 0/10 for me. From LA and not even those places do that. Bad for business. Wish I could rate the food and service since I host a popular food blog. They probably won't care

I ordered the $95 ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and I had a lemon drop. The food was delicious. Service was excellent and the lemon drops had me buzzing. I love this place it was an amazing experience. The servers were awesome. I'm definitely coming back.

Came here for my boys birthday ordered about 3 thousand worth of steaks that the waiter just randomly picked out for us and didn't ask us how we even wanted it cooked. Gave us all rare without asking at a steakhouse. Also put truffle on all our steaks without asking unacceptable service for a place that charges as much as them. Don't recommend.

Was told by the servers that the meat was top quality and the seafood was fresh. Our meal was SO salty. Some of the food was served cold E-mailed the restaurant to provide feedback as our meal was over 400 dollars and we did not eat, never got a response back. Disappointing meal to say the least, and disappointing customer service. Would not return.
Be the first to ReplyFood was really great.
My husband and I went on VDAY and menus was changed. They make a shorter menu during holidays which actually sucks because we both wanted something they took off the menu. Overall the experience as good. Food was still great.
Be the first to ReplyOur reservations were at 9 we didn't get seated until 9:40.
The place was half empty. We got our entree at 11 when they were shutting off lights and basically closing the kitchen. The steak was extremely tough. I didn't want to complain or i would've been there for another hour. Would not recommend. Very slow staff and the over priced food was average at best.
Be the first to ReplyEverything I had was good and I was impressed.
One of the first things I'll do is eat there again once I visit Detroit again
Be the first to ReplyCame here for Brunch on a Sunday.
LOVED the labneh and fruit; there's a crunchy sesame thingy and honey that added a *chef's kiss* taste. Eggs were solid, brioche toast was good. Not a fan of the onions added to the potatoes. Also not a fan of the iced latte. Our server, Caleb, who I believe to be a bartender bc we sat by the bar, was AMAZING; he was kind, attentive, polite and friendly. Will be back again soon!

Thursday night 8pm. Completely dead. Got the Louie $36 salad. Huh? All lettuce. An embarrassment. Had the lobster app as an entree. $36 . Terrible. So fried and maybe 2 oz of lobster. Onions rings $18...the most disgusting fried breaded rings I have ever had. Wine list is stupid. Huge mark up. Ended with a bill where they charged us $6 for tap water!!! Then $3 for an ice cube in a $30 bourbon. WTH!!! This place was empty for a reason.

Renee, Richard and Tiffany were amazing!!

Hands down the best steakhouse I have been to in a really long time. They are a proper steakhouse. Everything we got was amazing. We started off with the grilled Caesar salad. The Caesar dressing was on point with actual visible anchovies. I got the pork chop which was one of the most tender pork chops I have had in a long time. My husband got the Waugh beef, also absolutely amazing. We got the carrots, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese as sides also done perfectly. The cheesecake was light and fluffy and the chocolate was decadent but still managed to be light.

I'm shocked at how much you pay for mediocre food! The interior is the only decent thing prime and proper has to offer. Huge disappointment

Street parking and pay lot near by.
Be the first to ReplyI attended a business dinner last night at Prime & Proper
I attended a business dinner last night at Prime & Proper and was completely blown away from the moment I walked in.A female server led me from the host stand to a private dining room that was reserved for our group, and she very thoughtfully gave me a heads up that we would be passing their meat aging cellar after learning that I don't eat meat via small talk. We had a group of 8 in the private dining room, which is encapsulated in a wine cellar and feels very exclusive. The service was absolutely out of this world. We had two dedicated servers who were incredible, sadly I only caught Ken's name but the female server I mentioned previously was also with us all evening. They were super friendly and extremely attentive; everyone's drinks were full at all times and each course was cleared promptly. A few of us have dietary restrictions and the staff was so thoughtful and accommodating - I was given an individual serving of one of the table's side dishes with the pork removed and I didn't even ask for it!Everything I tried was great. I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish as my entree and it was very good. Most of my colleagues ordered filets and everyone enjoyed their dishes.I will note that this is one of the pricier and more exclusive restaurants in town, and that dinner here is a full evening affair. I valeted my car, but there is some street parking (it's just hard to come by). Be prepared to either have to park and walk a little bit or valet your car if you drive to P&P.All in all, we had a great time and will absolutely return!
