Quality Bistro New York Reviews from The Last Year
A lovely restaurant with a short walk to theatre district.
Very welcome staff excellent service. The pasta was homemade and escargot was on point. A taste treat while in NYC. Stopped backed for dessert after the show because we enjoyed meeting manager Jamie she was such a lovely person. Definitely would recommend for both food and service.
So very disappointing.
I am still angry for being taken advantage of. At this price point and with such hype we expected exceptional food and impeccable service, but that was not the case. We came here to celebrate my Daughter's College Graduation, and we let her pic where she wants to go. She chose Quality bistro based on the hype, plus we love fine dining and frequently go out. Upon arrival we stood around for about 15 min before being seated at a booth in the first dining room. The restaurant is modern, loud and seems busy. Our waitress arrived with a smirk and immediately asked if we were ready to order main course. Main course??? Lady we just sat down. She didn't give us her name and we felt rushed. I asked, since we just sat down how about some drinks? Ohhh alright she said. At this point we became an inconvenience. I asked her what is the most popular or her favorite drink? She grabbed the menu out of one of our daughters hands and started reading off the menu. Wow, I can do that myself so clearly she didn't know the menu and was unable to give recommendations. After she took our order she never returned to our table. My husbands Makers Mark since they don't carry Jack was below average and in a very small glass, my El Diabolo drink was awful, boring and very syrupy I had to water it down to tolerate sweetness so I didn't enjoy it, my daughters Bistro Spritz was ok, and my sons coke was so watered down you could see the water in his glass. We all ordered French onion soup. I am not sure if it's the onion they use or the chef adds sugar but it was very sweet and flavor was not as good as I expected at $20+. We had much better soups at some places at $13 a bowl. My husband ordered a Tomahawk dry aged $100 medium rare and it arrived medium very underwhelming. My Moroccan fried chicken was far from Moroccan. I am friends with the chef that cooks for Prince of Morocco and let me tell you this is far from. Scallops were good, my other two kids had filet mignon and they both liked it. The sides: mushroom was so bad we only had a small nibble, Mac and cheese was just ok, brussels sprouts were good, the corn crème brûlée was again extremely sweet. I don't know why everything there was so sweet??? The $18 price tag for some sad French fries was a slap in the face. Our Graduate had a ruined dinner, and apologized to us. I felt so bad for her so we tried to pretend all was good not to make her feel bad, but she knew. We went to Delmonico's following day to make up for this. What a waste of $800 this was and what a way to ruin the celebration of her accomplishment. We will NEVER return and we highly do not recommend this place.
Food is generally very good, and is quite expensive.
There are not numerous menu items from which to choose, but there is a varied selection. Salads can be divided. Bronzino is very tasty, as is sliced hanger steak. Petite filet mignon was just okay. All sides are ala carte. No bread on table. Desserts are mostly very good , and are large enough to share. Service can be slow; restaurant is crowded and noisy.
More steakhouse than French restaurant.
The Great: Steak Frites, Filet Mignon/Croissant Lobster Roll Surf N Turf, Tomahawk, and the Wine. A+ on the mains. The Decent: Oysters, Corn Crème Brûlée The OK: Vegetable sides, table side peppercorn sauce, salads, the service (slow to take orders, and forgot a dish and some drinks) The Very Bad: Chocolate Mousse (Should be light and airy. Instead was dense and fudgy). Order accordingly.
We had dinner here this evening.
The service and food were phenomenal. They knew we were celebrating my daughter's Graduation. They offered us a complimentary crab cake, which was so generous and amazing. The Spicy Caesar Salad was very good. The Filet Mignon with table side peppercorn sauce preparation was absolutely amazing. The Corn Crème Brûlée was insane!! Then they brought us an Almond Sponge Cake...It was delicious...way better than it sounds! Thank you for treating us so well! Our server was excellent, too!!
Not really French but overall still excellent
I was invited for dinner by one of my sons. Everything was like expected starting with the meat which was perfect. You boast being a Frebch restaurant but there I have my doubts. You're playing around with French words but it isn't reflected in some of your dishes. Your selection of sauces is rather limited (your peppercorn sauce has nothing to do with a "sauce au poivre"and was very disappointing and I wish I hadn't ordered it.) I would have expected a roquefort sauce with my leat but there wasn't any. And the side of watercress could have been improved with some vinaigrette). Now the deserts, one of my sons ordered a chocolate mousse (the French "mousse" means foam , but what he got looked like concrete and belonged to the building industry not a restaurant like yours). As to my desert, the floating island was delicious but not a floating island the French way. I don't know what the island was made of but it was not meringue. This being said, overall the five of us enjoyed our meals, but please, be honest and don't call your restaurant French and stop playing around with French words that don't make any sense and border ridicule.
Me, my Fiancé, and one of her good friends went to Quality
Me, my Fiancé, and one of her good friends went to Quality Bistro right before going to a Broadway show a couple blocks away. We have heard a lot about the restaurant and made a reservation well in advance. The restaurant itself was beautiful. Very decorative and regal. Our server was good but had a lot of other tables to tend to. We try a bunch of their menu options and shared everything. The hardest thing to share was French Onion Soup. On top of the images below, we also tried Filet Mignon which was great. For the quality of food we received I believe the overall total bill can only partially be justified. It was a wonderful experience but the food did not stand out to me. The ambiance and the feel of the restaurant did.
Went for my wife's birthday, we Loved the experience and
Went for my wife's birthday, we Loved the experience and the butter service! Would definitely recommend.
We came here for a work event and it was an amazing dining
We came here for a work event and it was an amazing dining experience. I'd heard people rave about the corn crème brûlée and it definitely lived up to the hype! It was like a dessert for a side dish. The bread service was also something I'd seen on tik tok and it also was amazing. The bread was so flavorful and the butter was insane. They added all sorts of seasonings and spices to it. The vibe was super upscale and made me feel like I was eating my steak frites (you guessed it, also super fire) in France. If you're in the area...actually even if you're NOT in the area I would go try this place out.
When making the reservation my sister let them know that we
When making the reservation my sister let them know that we were celebrating my birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant the hostess wished me a happy birthday. There was a hand written card waiting for me at the table. The waiter wished me a happy birthday. The manager came over and wished me a happy birthday. After our dinner they brought out the buttercream service with funfetti madelines and buttercream and a giant sparkler. No one sang. As we were leaving we passed the manager and she wished me a happy birthday again and even remembered my name. That is just exceptional service! At our table my sisters both had the diver scallops, and I had the gnocchi. Both were fantastic. My gnocchi were slightly crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Perfect. We had sides of a butternut squash bread pudding and also Brussel sprouts. So good. Overall a delicious meal! The restaurant was beautiful and just a fabulous place for a birthday dinner.
A+ dinner before the show
A+. Highly recommend. Milton was amazingly welcoming and friendly. Made our dinner. Jamie added extra joy by taking care of us. They made sure the food was great and timely to allow us to get to our Broadway show by 7:30. Atmosphere is great too. The French onion soup A++++. All around a great dinner because of Milton and Jamie.
Beautiful ambiance.
Lots of extra flair. We had the crab cakes and they were perfection! Hanger steak medium was a little more on the medium-well side.
A little French oasis 👌
What a great surprise, excellent! Living in Paris, I thought this could be good, for lunch. Right so, a little french oasis, in NY. Really charming interior, friendly and soft spoken servers. Fun French meny. This will be a regular for us, when in NY. They surprised my bday husband with dessert👌
"Turn the table, turn the table. I need the table"
Great food, the Butter Service is an out of this world fantastic gut-bomb, desert (caramel cake, in particular) was delectable. Were is not for really bad service - really restaurant management policies infuencing the wait staff - we would have been back two weeks later. Instead, we ended up at Del Frisco's, and Quality lost out on another business dinner. Why? First, one of eight of us was 10 min late, and apparently they won't put in a partial order until everyone orders everything all at once. This is so the kitchen can get it all out on scheduled. Nevermind the butter service, does not really involve much kitchen prep as it is mainly tableside with the accoutrement pre-prepared (and if not, there's an opportunity). So we ordered a bit late, perhaps a little "hangry" as we coulld not order apps first. Fine. Second, a colleague ordered Onion Soup (again, delicious!), which was taken away before he was done. Swoop. GONE! "Um, excuse me?" Then, just as we ordered desert waiter #1 says to waiter #2 "we have to turn this table, I need this table NOW!" Ok, fine, I get it, but do you really state that loudly and clearly in the middle of the restaurant? If you want to turn the tables faster, then how about letting us toss in the apps and take the mains 5-10 min later. Just rude for a place like this. So we won't be back despite the Butter Service and all around great cooking. Great cocktails, too. So we went elsewhere a few weeks later, and my colleague to takes his team here now and then will go somewhere else. Feels like this is really management policy / training and not just a rude waiter. Is that what you intend, Quality?
Bravo!
We came for date night dinner. I can't believe I hadn't been there before! This is a great special occasion place! and great for business meals and most any night out. The atmosphere is luxe with carefully placed cheeky Parisian overlays. (signage, greenery, artwork). The food was excellent! We especially loved the butternut squash bread pudding and kombucha gnocchi. The chocolate mousse service was delightful and the apple tartin sundae impressive. Service was on-point.
Solid...but not for larger party.
This was my third trip to Quality Bistro - all business dinners. The "Butter Service" is literally and figuratively decadent and is worth a try. The desserts are outstanding (the caramel one is completely sold short in its description as is the apple one). Service our first two trips was attentive enough. This last trip...not so much. Our main server was frantic and rude and pushed only the most expensive items on the menu. Support staff cleared plates without asking if we'd finished. One of my colleagues literally had a spoon in his mouth and his half-eaten soup was removed from in front of him. It became very clear we were being rushed out of there. If it were not clear by these actions, the main server announcing loudly to her colleague "I need this table" made it very clear. We were there for two hours, in total, and our food order wasn't taken until 45 minutes in. Also, the dining room is VERY loud and hard to hear across our large, round table. I'd probably return - but not with more than 4 people.
LOW Quality Bistro
A more appropriate name for this restaurant would be LOW QUALITY BISTRO. We went for brunch with friends, and unfortunately NOTHING was good about this place. To start, the waiter and the hostess both were neither friendly nor accommodating. There are only really 4 brunch items, and they all contain eggs. When we asked if we could get a couple eggs on the side with the avocado toast, the answer was a hard "No, we don't have eggs to serve you on the side." Strange answer with other egg options on the menu, but we moved on. The avocado toast was horrible--it was guacamole smeared on white bread with a little garnish. The 4 of us each had coffee, and when there was none left in our cups, we asked several times for more coffee. After the 3rd request, someone came by and filled our cups back up. Fast forward to the check....my husband discovered we had been charged for 8 cups of coffee. Apparently they "don't do free refills." I have never heard of this before--whether in a diner or a formal restaurant. That's absurd.. $38 for coffee??? When we spoke with the manager, he, too, was aloof. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant, and we will never return to any of the restaurants in this group.
Very beautiful place
Beautiful place, I recommend making a reservation. Business lunch, without many tourists. Great service and delicious food, you can share it because it is well served.
Great lovely place with excellent meat!
Great restaurant with excellent service and super tasty meat. The wine excellent. The dessert mmmmm! A little too much noise, otherwise just great 👍
Onion soup
Great service and the onion soup is just spectacular! And yes, you should leave some space for the desert ...and drinks?

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
