Slowloris Brooklyn Reviews from The Last Year

2 of my favorite Asian cuisines collide! Slow loris was recommended by a friend as a Korean spot in Brooklyn to us and we're so glad we finally went! A smaller intimate restaurant so service was quick and attentive. Some Korean staples we got to try included the seafood pancake (filled with seafood!!!), soy ginger Korean fried chicken, hot stone bibimbap and kimchi tofu soup which were amazing sharing portions packed with flavor. If I were to go back, I'd skip on the galbi. Will definitely come back and try their Japanese menu next time too!

I love Slow Loris so much! The soft wooded and industrial interior finishes combined with iconic stained glass windows depicting a cityscape that continues inside where high ceilings let the sounds of neighborhood get togethers and the radio merge into a warmth that envelops every patron. The service is always amazing and it's not uncommon to find restaurant workers from nearby grabbing lunch here. But the best thing is about it is by far the food! It is so fresh and flavorful even if you take it to go, and the servings always give me at least a second meal of leftovers if not more.
Ambiance is so welcoming and great vibes.
All the food is delicious, you can't go wrong!! Service is kind and accommodating.
I enjoy the food here.
It's the only Korean restaurants and it satisfies the craving. I'm most impressed with the fried seaweed and the recently added kimbap. The tuna kimbap was actually exceptional and I crave that specific dish now. The soups are good but could use more flavor. Will continue coming here

The service here is always great; the waitstaff is very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The food is a bit hit-or-miss, however. On one visit, I tried the dolsot bibimbap which was rich and flavorful, just what you'd expect. The other time I tried Korean food here (bulgogi and spicy pork) the flavors felt a bit subdued, especially the spicy pork being a lot less spicy than one would expect. Fantastic bibimbap, however, would highly recommend this dish!
The waiter was great but unfortunately the food fell short.
Took myself on a date here for some quick alone time and was really disappointed that I wasted my time away on this meal. I ordered the Hwe Dup Bap Tuna and requested eel be added. He shared there would be an up charge which I was completely fine with. The presentation was great but there was zero flavor and the ingredients were low quality. I've purchased better bowls at WholeFoods. The eel I paid extra for was barely a full piece (look at the picture). When I raised my concerns, the server followed up with the chef who said that was two full pieces. I kept adding sauce hoping it would improve but unfortunately it couldnt be saved. I really hate being disappointed by food but even more when it's a local fave that used to be good cutting corners. I ended up picking up take out on the way home at another spot a block over.

Where to start? This place is perfect for a tasty, authentic bite of Korean food and sushi. Sometimes, I dream about the kimchi pancakes my Korean childhood friend's mom used to make me - this place is the first to hit the spot when it came to finally fulfilling this lifelong craving. I came here on a whim after reading some good reviews, and I was so delighted that they had everything I've been craving here. Some of my personal favorites are the kimchi pancake (crispy, delightfully and perfectly greasy, flavorful) the soondubu soup (super flavorful, piping hot, with the softest tofu in the world) and any of the special sushi rolls. The spring rolls from the sushi bar are great when you want a light, healthy snack as well. Somehow, greens are 10 times more delicious when they're wrapped in rice paper. Not sure why. Service is excellent! Sometimes it is really busy but they always are able to accommodate any of my requests. Everyone is very friendly even when it's super busy. I try not to order delivery too much here when it's lunch rush hours, though, as it can be a bit slow. I try to order more towards the early afternoon or towards the end of the night if ordering through Ubereats or whatever, and everything ends up coming on time. However, service indoors is wonderful all the time and honestly I have no real complaints. Ambiance is amazing! Such a cute little spot and is so nicely decorated. Love the sloth theme and the shirts all the servers wear are absolutely adorable. A lot of love clearly went into this restaurant (which I am assuming is a mom-and-pop restaurant). Very versatile ambiance - can be used for date nights especially with its rustic features, and also a good spot to just hang out casually with friends. I've done both. ALWAYS a good time. Also, they have good spirits here. Love soju and sake, which they have a surprisingly wide selection of. Such a huge fan overall, hopefully they stay here forever!
The food was amazing.
