Our favourite Bak Kut Teh in Singapore
Singapore style Bak Kut Teh which is less herbal but soup is meaty & piping hot, perfect with shoe you tiao (fried dough fritters. What is most impressive is the service. The waiters keep topping up soup for me & they are always very polite & friendly

One of singapore’s famous local dish, and this chain has popularised it with branches in many asian countries This is the peppery version as opposed to the herbsl one Ok for a quick meal, or when you bring a tourist friend
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointment….!!
How did they got the Michelin 1 star recognition??? The pork ribs is so dry when served and I have to dip soak the ribs into the small bowl of soup! The meat is quite tough not tender as expected and stick to the bone when biting it. The restaurant priced pork ribs quality is worst than a lower priced coffee shop chain stall Rong Cheng 榕城肉骨茶!What a disappointment…,
Be the first to ReplyPlace to drink Bak Kut Teh broth :)
Song Fa is an institution and the Bak Kut Teh is to die for and the best part being the endless hot broth that they serve you ... you almost have to beg them NOT to serve you when you bowl is empty. :) We enjoyed our dish with rice and dough fritters which were perfect to dunk in the broth. We also ordered the Clay Pot Pork which was a nice complement to the Bak Kut Teh. Song Fa has multiple locations around town and you can pick one that proximate to you. This location is located on a street corner and gives an experience that is right in the middle of eating in a proper restaurant and going to ever popular Hawker Centers.

We went to the Clarke Quay location on a weekday around 5 pm. We had to wait in line for about 15mins. We received a paper QR code menu and placed an order while we waited in line. As soon as you sit down, we got the food almost right away. We ordered a large pork rib soup(unlimited broth refill), claypot pork tenderloin, cai xin (green vegetable), and 1 bowl of rice for 2 people. The pork rib was tender and the meat came off the bone easily with enough chewable texture which was perfect. The pork rib broth was deep in flavor with a clean taste. Not greasy or oily or bad smell from the pork at all. The claypot pork tenderloin was perfectly seasoned and tender as it was paired with rice. This was one of the best meals we had in Singapore. We can see why this place received a Michelin star.

I had lived in Singapore for over ten years but I must confess this is the very first time I have tried Bak Kuh Teh(Boiled Pork with herbs and spices). Even my son can't believe I haven't tasted this famous Singaporean dish. There was a long queue when we reached its branch at Jurong's Jem Mall. Waiting time was 15 minutes but the queue moved fast. Aside from Bak Kut Teh, my son ordered Braised Pork belly marinated in soy sauce, braised ben curd skin, and crispy you tiao. We were all very satisfied with the delicious dinner we had. I will definitely come back.

Very decent Bak Kut Teh. The outlet is on the small size and this resulted in a long line of diners waiting their turn to be seated. The food was served relatively quickly and the portions were decent. The down side for me was that the rib was a bit on the dry side. Apart from that the rest of the dishes we ordered were very good.

Authentic Singapore Bak Ku Teh. Nice Ambience at Novena Square Outlet. The meat comes off the bone easily - not overcooked and fresh . Consistent quality of cooking across all the outlets. Try their own Oolong tea.
Be the first to ReplySoft and tender pork rib
Visited the outlet in waterway point. I love the boiled tender BKT pork rib soup easy to eat, soft and juicy. My favourite will be pig stomach and pig kidney soup with some vegetable and pig intestines.
Be the first to ReplyChinese pork rib and fish soup
The original bak kut teh or pork rib soup has clear soup which was tasty and could be refilled. Something which is not found in other similar restaurants is the use of sliced fish meat using the same broth for the pork ribs. The fish soup also tasted delicious.
This restaurant is in the chinatown area and the ambience was ok.
Good for tourists
BKT is famous in this area, but has become too touristy than ever. There are good local bak Kut teh as well with a local twist. Less pricer than what you get in Songfa
Be the first to ReplyExpanding chain for pork rib
Expanding chain for pork rib soup. They have 3 different cuts of pork and many side dishes you can choose from. Unlimited soup. Long queue during peak hours
