I am completely blown away by Steak 954. I guess you can say I'm a little late to the party on this place, but better late than never, right? Making a reservation is highly recommended. The process was pretty easy, either you can make it online or you can call them directly and make it; given if there's availability. Otherwise, if you walk in without one, expect to wait. We made a reservation for two on a Saturday night. We found street parking, walked in and literally sat right down. I'm not sure if they validate valet parking, but I would be surprised if they didn't. I was amazed at the decor and the overall atmosphere of this place. Simple yet elegant with a very laid back tone. The jellyfish is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen and definitely one a kind. The view of the water is beautiful, too. Such a beautiful location with an even better ambiance too. Our waiter was outstanding. Kind, funny, attentive and absolutely paid attention to detail. He was knowledgeable of the menu in its entirety and exactly how each item was cooked down to the ingredients and seasoning that makes it special. He was also very knowledgeable of how the steaks are dry aged. I was debating about either the filet or the ribeye, and his recommendation steered me in the right direction. For appetizers we ordered the lobster bisque and the Caesar salad, and the portions are big so if you ask they can split them into two plates for you. Our waiter offered to do this, which was very accommodating and appreciated. The lobster bisque was okay, nothing worth remembering but I enjoyed the Caesar salad. But you can't really mess that up. For drinks, I ordered the house red and my boyfriend an old fashioned - the red wine was exceptional. I actually keep meaning to call them and ask them what that house red is because it was my favorite house red I've had at a restaurant. You bet I ordered the dry aged bone-in ribeye, as well as my boyfriend. For sides we got the bacon macaroni and cheese and the whipped potatoes. For the steak, I've never had anything as delicious as this in my life. The dry aged really gives it that exceptional flavor you can only ask for in a steak. It was cooked to absolute perfection and I savored every bite. If you are not a big volume eater, then this can easily be split with someone else. I decided to be selfish and wanted it all for myself :) My boyfriend enjoyed his steak too and agreed that the dry aged is a one of a kind flavor and definitely worth it. For the sides: the macaroni and cheese was creamy and flavorful and the second best thing I had that night. I really did not like the whipped potatoes as it had a type of cheese that wasn't compatible with my palette, but my boyfriend thought it was good. I think it's an acquired taste. Either you would like it or you don't. It's worth mentioning that the sides are generous in portion, as well. Just one side would be good because we didn't finish either. Our waiter had suggested a vegetable side, which in hindsight probably would've been the best option but that bacon macaroni and cheese is worth it. Easily the best mac and cheese I've had. For dessert: We ordered the Chocolate Soufflé and the freshly baked cookies to go. The chocolate soufflé was outrageous. Warm rich chocolate with savory ice cream--what could be better than that? The cookies, for sure. The cookies were gooey, warm and just delicious. The flavors were chocolate chip, oatmeal, and double chocolate. YUM. We brought them home to family and they literally ate them all up. The oatmeal was my favorite. All in all, we absolutely loved our meals and the experience here. From the drinks to the dessert, everything exceeded all of our expectations and not to mention that the service and atmosphere here is one of a kind. Do NOT come here on a budget and pinching pennies, splurge on the fine experience and enjoy yourself. I promise you will not regret it. I can't wait to come back and try that filet :)
