The Oasis On Lake Travis Lakeway Reviews from The Last Year
AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE
We happen to come across the Oasis, and the views were spectacular. Our server was amazing and so accommodating. My husband and I shared the steak fajitas and they were so delicious. I forgot to mention the salsa was the best in Austin it had flavor and a little spice. The salsa was not the typical tomatoe salsa with no flavor its the best I've had in Texas. We had a wonderful time.

Want a review? - Here you go! This place is SERIOUSLY as if a local Prison hosted a "Taco Night" - Just close your eyes and imagine what that could be, make a little wish and blink your eyes and That's EXACTLY what you'll get. - Nasty food. So much so, that it's just effing Sad. This place is SO lazy and is such a tourist trap (for the view of a currently dried up lake) That this is legitimately their business plan...Not kidding, they 100% just ride off of the view.

The only reason this place got 3 stars is because the bartender saved the day! We were seated outside and sat there for ten minutes while servers walked past us and stared. We finally decided we didn't want to eat here but my husband wanted a margarita so we went to the inside bar. The bartender was so friendly. He got us a drink and chips and salsa. We ended up having a great convo with him. The restaurant itself is breathtaking. Definitely worth the view and the atmosphere but I don't like to be ignored by several staff members.
Come for the sunset
We ate dinner here. The line was long but there was not a wait to eat outside. The outside eating area is huge! So don’t let a long line scare you away. I’m Mexican and this Mexican food is not impressive. Come for the sunset NOT the food!
The view is great, and the food is not.
But honestly, the mexican rice tasted like it was from a box. Drinks at restaurant are overpriced for the quality of drink you get. Rims had hardly any salt drinks barely mixed, and margaritas are from a premix. I would go again to try different food and for the view, but I would not want to order anything from the bar. They don't do anything for a birthday or anniversary, which seems pretty cheap to me considering how expensive their menu is.
Views an vibes are nice.
Idk about there drinks I didn't have any alcohol drinks ( which might be why there are known or even the view , but food... no good. menu is very limited. I decided to play it safe and go with there classic American burger. None of it was good, bacon was crispier than Crispy, meat tasted like the cheapest patty you can possibly buy and it was also way over cooked/ dry. Fry's are also over cooked. For 21 bucks your better hittin up your favorite fast food restaurant for a burger.
The VIEWS are 10/10 AMAZING! The FOOD was 4/10.
Honestly it wasn't good .. the views made it worth it but again, the food was extremely mid. Service was average.
The best part of the restaurant is watching the sunset.
Margaritas tasted like they used concentrated lime juice. The crab jalapeños tasted like they came from the frozen food section. Again, the bright spot is the sunset.

For the top floor bar area, just amazing views - which can be enjoyed free of charge. It is a bit of a tourist trap, but we're tourists and enjoyed it! The treehouse like mini mall is fun to explore different levels, though many storefronts were empty. Beers and cocktails were good but pricey, with an automatic 20% tip. Parking wasn't too tough, with a garage and gravel lot. Will almost assuredly be back next visit!
Only the view and even that isn't worth it.
My expectations for the food were very low based on reviews and word of mouth but I thought if I ordered the fajita it would be better. It wasn't. The pork fajita came out and it looks like dog food. Somehow even the refried beans are awful. It also took over 10min for a server to greet me. I wanted to come here for the view but Oasis Texas Brewing is next door and the food and ratings are much higher. Don't waste time or money coming here. I am not picky but if you want to come here, you are better off getting Chipotle and then coming here for drinks after. I started writing this review while eating and was going to give it 2 stars for the view but wow this was not worth the money.
Average at Best, but Great View
Over priced, food is average at best (shrimp tacos/beef tacos) . That said, the young lady who waited on us, and expediter, were FANTASTIC. Won’t likely be back - except perhaps to head up to the brewery on the 3rd floor for cocktails and the view. 👍🏻
Yes food is not great, but you didn't come here for that.
The views are good, it's a nice night for family and out of town visitors who want to view the lake. Great spot for pictures. For food I thought the fajitas were ok. They give plenty of chips, a bit too salty for my taste. Service is hit or miss but you didn't come here for that. Don't worry about parking they have tons of it.
This is an amazing location with an amazing view.
It's really sad that the service and menu don't match the location. This could be a truly iconic restaurant if it was better managed. At lunch on a Wednesday the place was about 1/4 full. We were seated and given menus. When we went to order we were told that what we ordered was no longer on the menu but they didn't have a new menu to give us. So we finally found something to order that was still on the menu. The new menu is greatly reduced and is pretty much like any neighborhood mexican resturant in the U.S. Tacos/burritos/enchiladas with rice and/or beans. No creativity. My wife HATES raw onions, the server said no problem, they could leave them off her salad. It came with onions. The food runner didn't seem to understand but took the salad away. It came back with onions still on it. My wife picked them off. My taco's were just 'average' in quality and preparation yet easily twice the price of the same quality food somewhere else. OK - the view is great - but you could do SO MUCH better with this location Oasis.
Filthy and disgusting kitchen
3 different Kitchen staff were eating while preparing customers food. One staff member had his finger in his mouth cleaning his teeth. I spoke with a manager who claimed that he had been there for 4.5 years and that is not an issue. His staff need to eat while at work. He denied the situation was a health hazard. Did not offer to address the problem and did not see it as an issue. The place is filthy and disgusting! The manager has no right working as an employee of a food establishment.
As a whole, i give this 4 stars.
You come here for the views and celebrating, girls night, date night etc are alway fun here. When you put your name on the wait list, being nice to the hosts goes a long way. There are a lot of people here on the weekends so it can get hectic. There are stores to shop in while waiting. But have someone stay inside to listen for your name. I do wish they would open the rest of the stores back up again. There are locks to purchase to put on the lock wall which is cool looking. There is a ton of seating here and a lot of it , you will have a view of the lake. The wait staff more than likely wouldn't have time to stop and chat so service is fast, because of so many people. The food: the fajitas were good. The meat is actually very juicy and tender. The portion size of beans and rice are kind of small tho. Chips and salsa are good. The chips are the thicker kind. Overall, always a fun lunch/dinner.
I've wanted to go to Oasis for as long as I can remember.
We went during lunch on spring break so parking & getting a table was easy. The size of oasis completely blew my mind. I was not expecting it to be as large as it was. There's also a bunch of closed down restaurants/stores attached to it which was odd but hopefully they will fill up soon & be a lively place for tourist. Speaking of tourist, this is definitely a tourist trap. It's a beautiful building, with a beautiful view but you don't come here for the food. The service was amazing! We had a very kind server who checked on us regularly. We got frozen drinks & water to start. Mine was supposed to be like a dreamsicle. While it wasn't bad I wouldn't order it again and my mom loved her margarita. We then ordered queso & chips. It was good but pretty expensive. We weren't to hungry & based on the quality of the queso & the prices of the entrees we decided not to eat lunch at oasis. Overall I'm not sure it lived up to my expectations but it's one of my mom's favorite places. If your a tourist who want somewhere to lounge with a drink & snack with a beautiful view, knowing you're going to spend a lot of money this is your place.
The food was not good and for the prices I felt robbed.
I even left feeling a little sick. The drinks were all sugar. The idea is cool but the place is pretty run down, rusty and outdated. I was nice sitting outside on a pretty day.
The food is over priced and when we pointed out that we
The food is over priced and when we pointed out that we were being charged for something we hadn't ordered or eaten, our server said there was nothing he could do. It was a $2 charge for cheese on a burger so we just subtracted it from his tip and went on with our lives. It was weird. No one really enjoyed their meal and we wished we had tried a different restaurant but fell into the tourist trap.
This place is a tourist trap.
Food is mediocre & highly overpriced. There's also a lady that walks around with a camera and tries to sell you a $20 photo of your table. Overall, the atmosphere is weird and the decor is busy. Service was fine. Skip this stop on Austin.
Glad it wasn't my tab!!
Underwhelmed. I think the new boss was trying to impress, and certainly the views are great, but the food is mediocre at best. Asking for more salsa was apparently overreaching. Getting a glass of water (not an offered beverage choice) was met with a sigh. Absolutely no attempt by staff to provide service, rather just going through the motions. Did save me from making plans to come here for personal visit, and I guess that's an upside.

This is a great place to hang out for lunch, especially during the summer. The views from the hill are so beautiful and there's photographers around if you want to take a picture with the lake view. Food wise, the beef fajita was good, but the chicken fajita was eh. They brought everything out fast and there was plenty of space, despite how packed they were. Overall a cool place to hang out.

2nd time here!! Food was amazing! Service was quick and they were kind to my daughter while she was a bit difficult. I always loved the atmosphere, especially the locks on the fence. So beautiful
Absolutely not recommend it.
$80 for some chips and a disgusting queso not even taste good and two drinks. This is not even close to be Mexican food don't even waste your time coming here .
The view was absolutely stunning.
I was not expecting the view of the lake. The curved road leading to the restaurant was awesome. Service was good. I was a party of 1 so I sat at the bar and had no issues with service. The bartender was nice and got my order really quickly. I ordered the shrimp tacos. The tacos were very filling and good flavor. The price of $22.99 for tacos rice and beans was quite high but oh well it's Austin.
food - mediocre service - good ambiance - fair this
food - mediocre service - good ambiance - fair this venue is over rated. the sunset is the best part, but only happens once a day, so not everyone gets to see it. i do not recommend the oasis. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccxxxcxxcxxxxxxxxcccccccccccccxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
SERVER DANISSA SCAMMED US!!
I am LIVID!! Denissa was our server and knowingly scammed us! When she presented our check on the iPad, we saw the total, and then for the tip it gave an option for 3%, 5%, or 7%. I asked her how in the world could servers make money that way, and why would management do that to them?? She shrugged and said "Yeahhh..I don't know..most people just customize their tip instead". I told her that I understand that I can customize, but I was sorry they were being treated that way and tipped $11 instead of the $1.32 to $4.oo tip that was suggested on the iPad. Here it is 2 days later, and we look at the receipt and see that she had already added a 20% tip and did not tell us, even when we were showed concern/empathy for her regarding the 3%, 5%, and 7% suggested tips. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD US THAT IT WAS FOR AN ADDITIONAL TIP TO THE 20%. To make matters WORSE..the receipt said the automatic gratuity was for 6 OR MORE, and there were only 2 of us!!!! HOW DARE YOU! 😡😡
Ok for drinks and view. Not much else….
I generally only review places if I have a really good experience or if I have a really bad one. Spoiler alert, it was not the first one. I knew this place would be expensive since it’s a long-standing tourist trap type restaurant. I was prepared for that. You pay for the view. However never in my life have I been to a restaurant in which I had to pay $7 for chips and salsa. I think it’s an essential part of the meal though, so I ordered it to share. #1-The chips and salsa came out at the same time as the rest of our food, which incredibly defeats the purpose of it being an appetizer. #2 I could tell these were not restaurant made tortilla chips, and they had just emptied out the rest of the bag into my bowl, so it was covered with tortilla crumbles. The chips were nasty! They were dry, mealy, and flavorless. The salsa wasn’t great either. Most Mexican restaurants give out way better chips/salsa (and it’s included in the meal) so the fact I had to pay $7 for that kind of pissed me off. My friends $28 nachos were good for the first few bites, but then they went really soggy afterward. She only ate a small corner of her plate and stopped. My fajitas weren’t too bad, but not great either. The server was good, and the margaritas were pretty decent (although my friends glass had lipstick all over it). Then when we left, we went to use the restroom on our way out and it was so nasty that we both decided to just walk out and wait until we got home. Overall we were both just dumbfounded by our experience. If I ever went back there it would strictly be for drinks.
Great eats above the lake
The view is priceless. Was able to dine outside. The service was attentive, friendly and great. The burger was amazingly good.
Sunset views
Excellent views, decent food, plenty of parking. Visited the brewery rather than the restaurant, arrived just before sunset and had no problem finding a table.
Beware: Racial discrimination
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. Our 17-person party faced challenges in securing a table, as we were initially told that all members needed to be present in the restaurant for seating. When we complied, the hostess insisted on a second check-in at the reception, where she and other employees openly giggled at us. It felt like they were looking down on us because of our South Asian descent. Requesting to speak with the manager, we were met with a dismissive response, claiming the manager was on the hostess's side. Despite the manager later offering a table, the lack of apology and the overall treatment prompted us to leave. Even our 10-year-old kids sensed discrimination based on our race. I advise caution, especially for non-white patrons considering this restaurant.
Incredible Event Even on A Dreary Day
We visited the Oasis in October of 2023 for my oldest daughter’s birthday celebration. IT was SPLENDID. I was born in Austin but raised in Houston TX. The one place I always wanted to visit was the Oasis. The drive to the restaurant was so scenic and beautiful. I had no idea there were shops and other things to do at the top of the hill. Me and my husband arrived a bit earlier who were immediately greeted by staff. They told us about a very nice sitting room just left of the lobby, where we could wait for the others to arrive. I thought with no reservations, the wait was going to be extreme, but within 2 minutes of the birthday girl showing up, with a few other guests, we were properly seated at a place of our choice. Not long after sitting down we saw the many signatures locks that Oasis restaurant is known for, took a few pictures, and again before we could even look for a waitress she was right there. Thank you, Emma, for your outstanding service! The drinks we had were prepared to perfection and the food was delectable. Even though we were on the lowest level of the restaurant, we had one of the best views. Thank you, Oasis, for making our event memorable.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
