🤮 1/5 - Terrible service, mediocre food

Came here for Sunday lunch and left disappointed. Our waiter was absolutely dreadful. Very unfriendly and inattentive. Didn’t ask what we wanted to drink, didn’t put in an order for our drinks once we asked. Delivered our starters without the extra bread we had ordered, etc. Above all, we were very clear that my wife is pregnant and required that her meat to be cooked well down… it certainly wasn’t. The waiter insisted it was, which it definitely wasn’t. He took the plate back to the kitchen and then came back to apologise stating it was indeed not properly cooked. The waitress that then brought back the dish made a remark as though uncooked meat for a pregnant woman isn’t a big deal -> that is a very personal decision to make during your pregnancy. As it relates to the food -> mediocre at best. The pork roast that we ordered was 90% fat and pretty bland. Being totally fair, this is a type of dish that could have been served at any average pub in London. The confit potatoes were good but I would certainly not come back for them alone. Ultimately, good service goes a very long way and unfortunately it was really bad here. Shame as we heard good things. Perhaps another London institution going downhill post COVID given untrained staff. Would not recommend.
